Dead Weather Review - October 2009

Single Review
The Dead Weather – I Cut Like A Buffalo
Release Date – 23rd October 2009

I Cut Like A Buffalo, the latest single from Jack White’s newest super group, The Dead Weather, is one of the most diverse and unusual tracks from their awe inspiring debut album Horehound, sticking out from the others like a beautiful sore thumb.
Its aggressive style and reggae infused ska like beats show that Jack White and co are here to prove they are not just “another” rock and roll band, and that they really are out to show other bands how its done.
Front woman Alison Mosshart’s haunting vocals are layered together perfectly with White’s famously unusual voice, the same voice that made The White Stripes and The Raconteurs such a success, creating one of the most breathtaking duets of the decade.
There is no dispute; this single is one of the best tracks off the album, if not the best, as well as being one of the best singles of the year, a must buy.
